i pull myself a w a y from you
because you are slowly f a d i n g from
s i g h t
buried in these words
with eyes aglow
from computer "fire"
i almost hate myself because you are not who i thought
maybe its crazy talk because i know its
late
and my eyes are big, awake with
sleeplessness
but emotions are raw and i need you now
so why are you f a d i n g from
s i g h t
and why do i p u l l myself
a w a y?
the truth is that you could hurt me
you might not choose me
you might not want me
it is not the early hour or the flourencent lights it is not crazy talk this time
emotions are bleeding and i need you now
but i p u l l myself a w a y
because you are f a d i n g
from

I LOVED the spacing on those words.
Added a lot to the poem.
This poem seemed full. I really liked this peice.

What did computers have to do with it?
e-mail?
messenger?
I wouldn't mind the story behind this one...

thankyou, it is such a great feeling when someone responds positively to things that i generally keep to myself. this is the first place i have posted any of my writing and i love it.
i guess i added the c omputer glow in b/c it was 4am and i was at the point where i was incredibly tired but my eyes were glued open and dry from the computer glow.
and its usually at this time (so early/late) when the body needs sleep but fights it off that i can't tell if the things i'm feeling are real or if it's just my mind making dramatics so i stop doing my work.
i was in the middle of a huge paper and i just started thinking about a lot of things (distracting myself really) and thats when i wrote this.
i wasn't sure if it was the fact that i was alone in the computer lab, or that i'd been staring at a moniter glow for 5 hours. ( i also added in the flourecent lights to slightly reiterate this)
thats what this is about for me. the realizations made when you least expect them (4am at the Library) in a place that you least expect your emotions to flood the floor at.
but then again, maybe it was just crazy talk

yea, real well put poem..
like the action in it
as hannibal said, the spacing is superb..
it actually has function....
"it is not the early hour or the flourencent lights it is not crazy talk this time"
-this reminded me a lot of ginsberg...or maybe it's the way I read it.
I took it as you were kind of a machine (with making reference to computer)
you became a machine of the night...work'n work'n work'n etc.
and endless process of thought so to speak....
as for ginsberg.....the feeling of yr work, in a way, reflects "Amercia" by him...
you should check it out..
but I ponder yr work...why so many unanswered questions?
get back to me...

i never really noticed that trend in my writing until you pointed it out, unanswered questions,
i don't have a concrete answer for that but i do like my writing to pose questions for the reader
i like when i am forced to think or come up with my own answers (when reading other work) and i want to create those same feelings in others
because everything around us is full of unanswered questions; particularly dealing with emotions.
i guess i don't fully understand my own sporatic feelings and i'm trying to through my work, asking questions aloud hoping that will somehow help me grasp an understanding.
this is a confusing reply, sorry.
